Rod,
1. Thanks for the good news on NTT.
2. Rick has a new ball valve actuator that should ship from Germany
next week, direct to Ito, same make but 700 ft lbs of torque, still 100
volt, same connectors etc so it seems the right solution.
3. I will have Tom order 2 new accelerometers (? should we get 4?).
4. I have had 2 meetings, following my first screaming session, with
the pump people. A significant part of the problem may be that the
original 506.82 had a screen to remove air which was deleted from the
new design. We dropped such a screen into a pump in test and the air
bubbles reduced by 75% +. Early next week we should have agreement on
the fix.
5. I have had initial conversations about the wings, but didn't get to
Pat Morton yet. I do think we will be modifying same but do want a good
analysis before deciding.
6. Good Luck at Shimonoseki. Try get some idea of if they want to fix.
Suggest the alternative of using HUD for experiments then there is no
concrete repair costs in the equation. In some ways I do wish I could
have attended but for the problems here (pumps, ball valve, and wings)
it is best that I came back when I did.
7. Also my tooth pain has gotten much worse. I thankfully have an
appointment Monday.
Regards- Omar
